FundedNext Futures Brings Back Its 5:1 Risk-Reward Cap: What Changed

The Futures terms restored clause 2.2.15, removed dispute-related reward withholding, and now list a Hong Kong contact office.

Short answer: FundedNext Futures has put its risk-to-reward rule back into its Futures Challenge Terms. Trades that risk more than they aim to make are again prohibited, and FundedNext says it enforces a maximum 5:1 risk-reward ratio. The same update removed a clause that let FundedNext withhold Performance Rewards during a payment dispute, and it moved the contact office listed in the terms from Ajman (UAE) to Hong Kong. The rule applies to FundedNext Futures only — the CFDs (forex) terms don't contain it.

What changed in the Futures Challenge Terms

We compared the current terms (dated "Last updated: 25 September 2026", read on September 28) with the version from August (dated 5 May 2026, archived on August 4).

Rule-tracking site PipBack reported that FundedNext removed the risk-to-reward clause in mid-August, and its archives show the clause missing on September 27 and back on September 28. We couldn't read FundedNext's terms during that window ourselves, so treat the exact removal dates as PipBack's record. What we can confirm first-party: the clause was in the terms in early August, and it was in the terms when checked on September 28, 2026.

What the 5:1 rule means in practice

Clause 2.2.15 does two things:

  1. It says trades where the risk is higher than the potential reward — a negative risk-to-reward ratio — go against proper risk management and are prohibited.
  2. It says FundedNext enforces a maximum 5:1 risk-reward ratio.

Read literally, those two sentences don't line up: the first bans any trade that risks more than it targets, while the second allows risk of up to five times the target. The terms don't say how FundedNext measures a trade's ratio either — from your stop and target orders, or after the fact.

Until FundedNext clarifies, here's the practical reading:

  • Over 5:1 is clearly out. A 20-tick stop with a 2-tick target (10:1) breaks the cap.
  • Between 1:1 and 5:1 is a grey area. A 10-tick stop with a 4-tick target (2.5:1) is inside the cap but risks more than it targets. If that's how you trade, ask FundedNext support in writing whether it's allowed, and keep the reply.
  • Keep your stop no wider than your target and you're clear of both readings.
  • Always place a stop and a target so the ratio of every trade is visible and defensible in a review.

The dispute change is good news for traders

The August terms let FundedNext withhold, suspend or offset pending and future Performance Rewards against a disputed payment "until the dispute is fully resolved". That sentence is gone from the Futures terms. Now, if you dispute a payment, the trading account tied to it is paused. To reactivate it, you withdraw the dispute and send proof; FundedNext says verification can take 45 to 60 business days.

It's still a slow process, so contact support before filing a chargeback. But your rewards are no longer on the table while it's resolved — on Futures, at least. The CFDs terms (last updated May 5, 2026) still allow FundedNext to withhold rewards during a payment dispute.

Did FundedNext move to Hong Kong?

Only partly. The contact office in the Futures terms is now 8/F China Hong Kong Tower, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, run by FundedNext Limited, which also operates fundednext.com. But the terms still say the Futures Challenge is offered by GrowthNext F.Z.E., registered in Ajman, UAE — the same company that runs the CFDs Challenge. The company you contract with hasn't changed; the office address has.

What FundedNext Futures traders should do now

  1. Check your setups against 5:1. Look at your stop and target distances on your usual trades. Anything over 5:1 needs to change.
  2. Get grey areas answered in writing. If you trade between 1:1 and 5:1, ask support whether it's allowed and save the answer.
  3. Save the current terms. Screenshot or print the page with its "Last updated" date, so you know which version applied to your trades.
  4. Avoid chargebacks. Talk to support first; a dispute still pauses your account for weeks.
