How Many Prop-Firm Accounts Can You Have? 2026 Limits

Evaluation capacity is not funded capacity. Check stage, product, size, plan mix, profile, and household scope before buying another account.

The practical answer: there is no universal limit on how many prop-firm accounts you can have. The same firm may allow many evaluation accounts but only one, three, or five active funded-stage accounts. Account size, product family, household, live status, and special program enrollment can all reduce the cap.

Before buying another account, identify the exact stage and product, then check whether the rule applies per user, profile, household, plan, or total allocation. A checkout that accepts another evaluation does not prove that another funded account can be activated later.

FirmEvaluation limitFunded / qualified limitImportant exception
TopstepNo stated limit on active Trading CombinesUp to five active Express Funded AccountsShoulder Tap limits the trader to one XFA; an active Live account blocks another XFA activation
TradeifyGrowth evaluations are unlimited; up to 15 Select evaluation purchases in a rolling 30-day windowFive active Simulated Funded AccountsFive is also a household-wide cap across Growth, Select, and Lightning
My Funded FuturesUp to ten active evaluationsUsually five for only 25K/50K Sim Funded accounts; three when any 100K/150K account is active50K Flex is capped at three unless grandfathered; Builder currently publishes separate one- or two-account limits
Alpha FuturesThe current allocation page does not state an evaluation capFive Zero, Direct, or current Standard Qualified accounts; three AdvancedAny active Advanced Qualified account reduces maximum allocation to three; only one individual per household may use the service

These are maximums, not recommendations. The safe operating count may be lower once subscription cost, activation cost, copy-trading permission, per-account inactivity, platform limits, and manual supervision are considered.

Topstep: unlimited Combines, up to five active XFAs

Topstep's current Trading Combine parameters say there is no limit to the number of Trading Combines a trader can hold. Every Combine, Express Funded Account, and Live Funded Account must remain under one Topstep profile; creating multiple profiles to expand the count violates the published single-profile policy.

Passing does not create unlimited Express capacity. Topstep allows up to five active XFAs. If a trader passes another Combine while already at five, the new XFA is held until a slot opens. Account sizes and the Standard and Consistency payout paths can be mixed inside the five-account maximum.

Special stages narrow the limit. The current XFA page says Shoulder Tap account holders are limited to one XFA. Topstep's activation page also says the activation button is unavailable when the trader already has five XFAs or an active Live Funded Account.

That makes the operational sequence more important than the number of passed Combines: purchase count, pass count, and active XFA count are three different measurements.

Tradeify: five active Sim Funded accounts per person and household

Tradeify currently allows unlimited Growth evaluation accounts. Select uses a purchase control instead: no more than 15 Select evaluations may be purchased within the 30-day period measured from the first purchase. Each Select evaluation also has a separate reset-purchase limit.

The funded-stage rule is simpler but broader in ownership scope. An individual may hold up to five active Simulated Funded Accounts, and the same five-account maximum applies across the household. Growth, Select Daily, Select Flex, and Lightning accounts all consume the same pool.

Tradeify says passed evaluations can be banked when all five funded slots are occupied. A trader who passes ten evaluations may activate five and hold the remaining completions until an active funded account closes. Failed or expired funded accounts no longer consume an active slot.

The household rule is the easily missed part. Two people in the same household cannot each assume they have an independent five-account allowance. Tradeify's current example says three funded accounts for each of two household members would exceed the shared cap.

My Funded Futures: size and plan can change the cap

My Funded Futures publishes a maximum of ten active evaluation accounts. Its Sim Funded maximum then depends on size and product.

For the general Rapid, Flex, and Pro structure, traders holding only 25K and 50K Sim Funded accounts may hold as many as five in total. One current exception applies to 50K Flex: accounts issued under the newer rule are capped at three, while qualifying pre-March-24 accounts may retain a five-account grandfathered limit.

Adding a larger account can reduce the entire allocation. If any 100K or 150K Sim Funded account is active, MFFU limits the trader to three Sim Funded accounts across all sizes and plan types. A mix of two 50K accounts and one 100K account therefore fills the published three-account allocation; the 50K accounts do not retain a separate five-slot pool.

Builder publishes its own product limits. The current Builder 25K guide allows two active Sim Funded Builder accounts per user. The Builder 50K guide allows one. These product pages are more specific than a generic expectation that every 25K or 50K plan receives five slots.

Alpha Futures: allocation depends on the Qualified plan mix

Alpha Futures' current Maximum Allocation page applies to Qualified Accounts. It allows up to five Zero, five Direct, or five current Standard Qualified accounts. Standard accounts created before July 27, 2026 retain a three-account maximum. Advanced is limited to three.

Plan mixing can lower the total. Alpha says any user with an active Advanced Qualified account is limited to three Qualified accounts. A trader cannot treat three Advanced accounts as a separate bucket beside five Zero or Standard accounts.

Alpha also publishes a one-username-per-individual rule and says only one individual per household may use its services. That household restriction is different from Tradeify's shared five-account household pool: Alpha's current wording limits participation itself to one household member.

The allocation page does not publish a numerical evaluation-account maximum. Do not convert a Qualified allocation into an evaluation cap without a first-party statement or written support confirmation.

Five mistakes that turn a maximum into a breach or wasted purchase

1. Treating evaluation slots as funded slots

Topstep can allow unlimited Combines while limiting active XFAs to five. Tradeify can allow unlimited Growth evaluations while applying one five-account Sim Funded household pool. The purchase stage and funded stage must be tracked separately.

2. Ignoring product-specific overrides

MFFU's size and Builder limits can reduce the generic five-account expectation. Alpha Advanced reduces the Qualified allocation to three. Use the most specific current product page, not a broad marketing number.

3. Opening another profile or household account

Topstep requires one profile. Tradeify counts the household. Alpha permits one individual per household. A second email address does not create a second valid allocation when the firm defines the cap at a broader identity level.

4. Copying without confirming every follower

A firm may permit trading across multiple owned accounts, but copier rules, hedging rules, maximum position size, and order failures still apply to every follower. Confirm each fill and each account's position instead of assuming the leader established identical exposure.

5. Scaling administration faster than supervision

Every account can have its own inactivity clock, payout cycle, drawdown, news restriction, platform credential, and stage-change date. Five allowed accounts can create five independent ways to miss a deadline or trade the wrong account.

A pre-purchase allocation checklist

  1. Record the firm, product, size, stage, and account ID for every active and passed account.
  2. Copy the exact evaluation, simulated-funded, qualified, and live limits from current first-party pages.
  3. Label each rule per user, profile, household, product, size, or total plan mix.
  4. Ask what happens when another evaluation passes while the funded allocation is full.
  5. Calculate recurring purchases, resets, activation fees, data, and platform costs for the full account count.
  6. Confirm copier, hedging, automation, inactivity, and news rules for every stage.
  7. Keep one operating dashboard with last trade, drawdown distance, payout cycle, and next deadline for each account.
  8. Recheck the cap before activating a larger account, changing plans, joining a special program, or moving live.

Do not buy to the published maximum until the workflow can supervise the published maximum. The commercial value of another account disappears quickly if it cannot be activated, is closed for inactivity, or introduces an unmonitored rule conflict.

Bottom line

Prop-firm account limits are stage and product rules, not one industry number. Topstep currently separates unlimited Trading Combines from five active XFAs. Tradeify uses a five-account individual and household Sim Funded cap. My Funded Futures varies between one, two, three, five, and ten depending on stage, size, and plan. Alpha Futures generally allows three or five Qualified accounts and reduces mixed allocation when Advanced is active.

Track evaluation count, passed-but-waiting count, active funded count, live status, and household scope separately. Then choose an operating count that fits your actual supervision—not merely the largest number a firm permits.
