Rules verified: August 23, 2026, 7:05 AM MDT
Next review: September 6, 2026, or sooner if a cited inactivity, warning, pause, stage, or closure rule changes
The practical answer: track inactivity per account, not per firm login, and set the reminder several days before the published limit. The current rules are not interchangeable. Tradeify requires at least one trade per account during each Monday-through-Friday week. My Funded Futures applies a seven-calendar-day rule to every simulated-funded account and to the Rapid EOD evaluation. Blue Guardian Futures uses 30 calendar days for evaluations and seven for funded accounts. Topstep says Express and Live Funded Accounts with more than 30 days of no trading activity may be closed, while its monthly Trading Combine has no fixed pass deadline.
Do not treat an email warning, a platform login, an open chart, or activity in a different account as proof that the timer reset. Confirm an actual trade in the exact account's history, preserve the timestamp, and recheck the current rule before a vacation or long market break.
Quick inactivity-rule comparison
| Firm and stage | Published inactivity window | What counts | Published consequence or boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tradeify evaluation and funded accounts | At least one trade per week, Monday through Friday | One trade in each account | Account may be marked inactive; Tradeify says it will message before action and its FAQ says inactivity removal cannot be reactivated |
| My Funded Futures simulated-funded accounts | One trade every 7 calendar days | One trade in the funded account | Rule violation leads to breach; contact MFFU before a planned break so the account can be notated |
| My Funded Futures Rapid EOD evaluation | One trade every 7 calendar days | One trade in that evaluation | The dedicated inactivity policy includes Rapid EOD evaluation in the seven-day scope |
| Other cited MFFU evaluations | No fixed progress deadline in the current inactivity article | Trade at the trader's pace | Monthly subscription continues where applicable; this is not permission to ignore account-specific purchase terms |
| Blue Guardian Futures evaluation | One trade every 30 calendar days | One trade in the account | Account is considered inactive and breached after the applicable window |
| Blue Guardian Futures funded | One trade every 7 calendar days | One trade in the account | Account is considered inactive and breached after the applicable window |
| Topstep Express Funded Account | More than 30 days with no trading activity may close the account | Trading activity in the XFA | XFA may be closed and cannot be put on hold |
| Topstep Live Funded Account | More than 30 days with no trading activity may close the account | Trading activity in the LFA | LFA may be closed and cannot be put on hold |
| Topstep Trading Combine | No fixed time limit to pass | Progress remains open while subscribed | Subscription rebills every 30 days until pass or cancellation and cannot be paused |
The safest operational rule is to treat every timer as independent. A trader with three funded accounts can have three different last-activity timestamps, even when all accounts belong to the same firm.
Calendar days and trading weeks are different clocks
Tradeify publishes a weekly requirement tied to Monday through Friday. My Funded Futures and Blue Guardian publish calendar-day windows. Topstep uses “more than 30 days” for XFA and LFA inactivity.
Those phrases should not be normalized into a universal Sunday reset or a simple monthly reminder. A seven-calendar-day clock continues through weekends and holidays. A Monday-through-Friday requirement belongs to a named trading week. A “more than 30 days” rule gives a wider window but still needs a conservative reminder because platform reconciliation, holidays, rejected orders, and time-zone assumptions can leave the last confirmed trade older than expected.
Use the wording from the exact account stage rather than converting it into your own deadline formula. If the dashboard exposes a last-trade or inactivity date, save that value and still retain the trade-history record that produced it.
Tradeify: one trade per account during each trading week
Tradeify's current Guidelines for Traders says funded and evaluation accounts require at least one trade per week, Monday through Friday. The requirement is per account, not per user. Trading in one account therefore does not establish activity in a second account.
The guideline says Tradeify will message the trader before taking action when it is concerned about maximum idle time. The current Common FAQs is more specific: an inactive account is deleted after an email warning, and an account removed for inactivity cannot be reactivated.
Treat the warning as a final control, not the reminder system. Email can be delayed, filtered, or overlooked. A weekly account checklist should show the account ID, stage, last confirmed trade, and whether the platform trade history has reconciled.
Tradeify accounts are one-time purchases under the current pricing reference, but that does not make them permanently active without trading. Billing structure and inactivity rules answer different questions.
My Funded Futures: seven calendar days in simulated funding
My Funded Futures' current inactivity article applies the rule to all simulated-funded accounts and to the Rapid EOD evaluation stage. It requires at least one trade every seven calendar days. A violation leads to account breach.
The same page tells traders planning a break to notify MFFU in advance so the account can be notated. Do not assume a note is automatic permission to exceed the limit; obtain the response in writing and save the exact account numbers, dates, and approved treatment.
The article says traders may otherwise take as long as desired to pass an evaluation, while monthly subscription charges continue where applicable. Rapid EOD is the named exception in the inactivity article's evaluation scope. That stage-specific distinction matters: “evaluations have no deadline” is too broad for the current product lineup.
Seven calendar days also means a weekend does not stop the clock. If the last trade was early in the prior week, waiting for the same weekday can leave little room for a holiday, closed market, or rejected order.
Blue Guardian: 30 days in evaluation, seven days when funded
Blue Guardian Futures publishes two separate windows in its account introduction. Evaluation accounts need at least one trade every 30 calendar days. Funded accounts need at least one trade every seven calendar days. Missing the applicable window makes the account inactive and breached.
The shorter funded timer creates the main handoff risk. Passing an evaluation changes the inactivity schedule from 30 days to seven. A reminder copied from the evaluation can therefore become unsafe as soon as the funded account is issued.
Reset the calendar when the account stage changes. Record the funded issue date, first trade, last confirmed trade, and the official rule URL. Do not assume that a purchase model with no recurring fee removes the activity requirement.
Topstep: no Combine pass deadline, but funded accounts can close after 30 idle days
Topstep's current Trading Combine subscription page says there is no time limit for passing. The account remains a monthly subscription that rebills every 30 days until the trader passes or cancels, and it cannot be paused.
That billing rule is different from funded-account inactivity. Topstep's Express Funded Account page says an XFA with no trading activity for more than 30 days may be closed and cannot be put on hold. The Live Funded Account page publishes the same more-than-30-day treatment for an LFA.
Do not carry the Combine's “no time limit” wording into XFA or Live. The stage changes both the payment model and the inactivity consequence. It also changes what would be lost: an XFA is a simulated funded-level account that can earn payouts, while an LFA uses real Topstep capital.
A five-step inactivity control that works across firms
- Inventory every account. Record firm, account ID, product, stage, platform, and status. Do not collapse multiple accounts into one firm-level row.
- Copy the exact rule language. Label the window as calendar days, trading week, or more-than-N-days. Save the first-party URL and verification date.
- Capture the last confirmed trade. Use the account's order or trade history, not only a login timestamp or a chart screenshot. Include timezone.
- Set two reminders. Use an early reminder with several sessions of margin and a final review before the published boundary. Never schedule the only trade for the last possible hour.
- Rebuild the timer after every stage change. Passing, activation, payout, live transition, breach, or reactivation can change the applicable rule.
A spreadsheet or calendar is enough if it is maintained. The important fields are account ID, current stage, last confirmed activity, next internal reminder, published maximum window, source URL, and any written exception.
What not to use as proof of activity
- Logging into the dashboard without placing a trade.
- Opening a chart or connecting a platform.
- Trading a different account at the same firm.
- Sending an order that was rejected and never appeared in trade history.
- Assuming a copier reached every follower account.
- Relying on an email warning to arrive before closure.
- Reusing an evaluation deadline after the account becomes funded.
If a copied or automated order is meant to maintain activity, confirm the result in each account. A leader fill does not prove that every follower accepted, filled, or reconciled the order. The existing copy-trading rules guide covers the additional per-account execution risks.
Before taking a vacation or planned break
Start with the shortest timer in the portfolio. Place only a trade that fits the account's full rules and your normal risk process; inactivity compliance does not override loss limits, news restrictions, maximum size, session close, consistency, or prohibited conduct.
Where a firm invites advance notice, send the request before the break and keep the written reply. List every affected account and exact dates. Where a firm says the account cannot be put on hold, plan around that restriction instead of assuming support can pause it.
Finally, recheck the policy on return. A saved rule proves what the firm published when captured; it does not guarantee that the current rule is unchanged.
Bottom line
Prop-firm inactivity rules are stage-specific operational deadlines. Tradeify uses one trade per account in each Monday-through-Friday week. My Funded Futures uses seven calendar days for all simulated-funded accounts and Rapid EOD evaluation. Blue Guardian uses 30 calendar days in evaluation and seven when funded. Topstep funded accounts may close after more than 30 idle days, while the Trading Combine has no fixed pass deadline but keeps rebilling.
Build the reminder around the exact account and verify the trade in history. A small administrative timer should not be allowed to close an otherwise healthy account.
